Core activities of the partnership

  • Support partnership groups with waterways projects and activities aligned to Community Waterways Partnership priorities
  • Convene quarterly Steering Group meetings for advice and strategic input
  • Provide an umbrella framework for waterways education initiatives
  • Facilitate riparian planting opportunities
  • Organise and deliver workshops and field trips to upskill and connect partners
  • Publish a quarterly digital newsletter and regular updates to maintain engagement
  • Host an annual CWP Hui to celebrate achievements and foster collaboration
  • Administer the annual Community Waterways Partnership contestable fund
  • Engage partners with Christchurch City Council’s mahi under the Comprehensive Stormwater Network Discharge Consent (CSNDC) through an annual presentation
  • Support, organise, and attend waterways-related community events
  • Coordinate and fund the annual Mother of All Clean Ups event
  • Share tailored funding opportunities relevant to waterways projects
  • Facilitate the Stormwater Superhero Awards
  • Fund and support stormwater education and awareness through the Stormwater Superhero Trailer
